Throughout the year, the JHMA provides many opportunities for auxiliary members to step away from their busy lives and enjoy the company of other members and their families.
The JHMA hosts a variety of social events for adults as well as families. A Welcome Picnic is offered in the late summer to welcome new and returning auxiliary members; our annual Halloween party invites children in costume to jump around in moon-bounce fashion; a Winter Party lets members share their holiday celebrations, especially at a time when we can’t always be close to family; and a Spring Party bids farewell to outgoing members while welcoming back returning members.
Interest groups serve to meet the many interests and needs of JHMA members. Groups meet monthly, bimonthly, or weekly in members’ homes and throughout the Baltimore area.

The JHMA partners with Hopkins institutions to raise funds and awareness for their needs. We also try to meet the needs of local community organizations.
We are currently working with the Johns Hopkins Breast Center to make comfort items for women coming out of mastectomy surgery.
The JHMA also actively volunteers to help The Children’s House at Johns Hopkins through wish list drives and by providing meals to families staying at the house.
Finally, the JHMA supports the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center through fundraising activities and wish list drives throughout the year.
ª We thank the House Staff Council for their support in establishing the JHMA–which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary–and for their ongoing partnership.
º We volunteer for The Women’s Board of The Johns Hopkins Hospital’s annual Best Dressed Sale, an impressive collection of donated designer clothing, shoes, and bags–a major fundraising event for Hopkins projects. Look for their coffee kiosks in the hospital and visit the Carry On Shop for quality used goods including furniture.
